Blame Grantham, all the way to the bank

Georgia's defensive coordinator got his raise and an extension. The new contract is incentive laden and restricts the scenarios for which Grantham can leave UGA without owing the school some cash.

Once you get passed all the dotted i's and crossed t's, what you boil down to is the fact that Georgia likes Grantham and the feeling is quite mutual. I guess those that really dislike the guy and truly pissed now.

Leonard Floyd update

While Atkins' status in Athens is very much up in the air pending further test results, Leonard Floyd (def. end, Eastman GA) appears to be ready ($$) to move to Athens next month.
Floyd’s high school coach, Ricky Collins, says that Georgia fans won’t have to wait long to see Floyd in Athens.

“He is taking a summer class he needed, and as far as I know everything is a go,” Collins said. “He is passing that with no problem. He should be going up to Georgia sometime in July.”

Smith gets pre-trial diversion

May not affect his suspension much, but Branden Smith got a pre-trial diversion for his dope charge.
Georgia cornerback Branden Smith entered a pre-trial diversion program last month in Alabama stemming from his spring break arrest on a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana, according to a clerk at the Henry County (Ala.) District Court.
Smith was ordered to pay $1,034 in court costs on May 18 when he was placed into the program. He was arrested on March 11 on his way to Panama City, Fla.

Winner, winner!...chicken dinner?

So Vegas likes the Dawgs in 2012. As Emerson said, if things roll in the SEC as the oddmakers predict, Georgia would win the East:
If the favorite wins every game, Georgia would win the SEC East again with a 7-1 record, followed by South Carolina (6-2), Florida (5-3), Tennessee (4-4), Missouri (2-6), Vanderbilt (2-6) and Kentucky (0-8).
The SEC West winner would also be a repeat: LSU is projected at 8-0, by virtue of being favored to beat Alabama (projected to be 7-1). So basically, the web site is projecting 2012 to look almost exactly like 2011.

If that holds true, hopefully the Dawgs are better at handling victory over their SEC East foes than in last year's SEC Championship game. But it's a long way until December. And there's always some curious lines this early.
AT MISSOURI: Georgia by 3
VS. VANDERBILT: Georgia by 17
VS. TENNESSEE: Georgia by 12
AT SOUTH CAROLINA: S. Carolina by 4
AT KENTUCKY: Georgia by 17.5
VS. FLORIDA: Georgia by 2
VS. OLE MISS: Georgia by 24.5
AT AUBURN: Georgia by 1.5

Richt loses nearly a full starting secondary and still walks into Cola West a field goal favorite? Favored over the state of Tennessee by 29? Favored in Jacksonville???!!??
As Blutarsky said, this only validates the easiness of the schedule at this point. I think I can hear the clucking over being 10 point dogs to LSU as compared to the barking over the Ole Miss line. But there's a lot of summer nights in downtown Athens and a lot of football to be played this Fall before winner, winner! becomes a chicken dinner. Maybe Carolina fans should stop whining and check the movement on the lines between now and kickoffs. Fans will be watching closely.

Humpday Mixology Hilarity

Takes this guy nearly four minutes to mix a beautifully fruity drink. In reality, I would've long ago gone to the other end of the bar and gotten a beer from the chick behind the taps.

Because butts needs them some wiping

Sorry, no meatloaf today. Not even a margarita. But...the Piggly Wiggly has everything else covered.

You're welcome. Now, don't go having a crappy Monday.
